Guide to Postcard Collecting & Related Links
I was given an old fold out postcard from Erie and became interested
in what year the postcard was from. Somebody had written on the
card, "1960's", but the cars shown were 1930's era. I showed the card
to my father who had worked at GE, and he confirmed that the GE
picture had to go back to the early 1900's.
From there I began looking on ebay, and I found that every day there
are 4 or 5 new antique postcards being offered from Erie.
Ebay even had a feature where they would email me every day for
up to 90 days, with a list of all the postcards that matched my criteria.
I have now been collecting these postcards for a couple years, and
hence I have decided to share them on this site.
It amazes me that in some cases I have been able to buy a postcard
that is almost 100 years old for about 3 dollars!
The first step in all of this is to get familiar with, and
then to register for ebay. Registering does not commit
you to anything...but it does allow you to start bidding.
Start small...if you bid on a $3 postcard, how big a risk
are you really taking?

Take a look at the number next to the seller...for instance...

The number next to the name indicates the number of
comments a seller has received back. Click on that
number and you can see the comments that buyers
are making about this seller. Chances are, that if
a seller has satisfied 556 out of 556 customers that
they will satisfy you.
Just be careful...ebay is so much fun it can be a bit
addictive.
